Imogen Binnie’s debut novel N E V A D A is about Maria, a young woman battling an addiction to her own history. She’s a girl who can’t take her own advice, and takes it out on herself by giving huge mouthfuls of it away to other people.

How does she cope with being fired, getting dumped, and taxing out her friends’ patience?

This is an excellent read. If you’re a trans woman, or a bossy lesbian, or BOTH, this book will probably make you remember things you were too stupid to forget! This is an exhilarating mix of cringes and lolz. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Paperbacks start shipping today. You can also order limited edition silkscreened posters and a sUPeR dELuxXxE hardcover edition with a silkscreened dust jacket signed by Imogen, designed and made by me!

Buying the book now helps Imogen embark on a huge tour all over the place!

NEVADA info and tour dates here!

THE COLLECTION / Topside Press INAUGURAL RELEASE
anthology of SHORT FICTION featuring the work of 28 contributors with a focus on transgender protagonists. Some of them are even in third person!

DONE. Submitted. Being published, now.

Have you ever read a book for 6 whole months? That’s what I’ve done, combing through this thing. In the end it’s a lot like putting out an album if you’re someone who never even listens to music on purpose. I was the crazy strictly-visual know-it-all in a wad of understanding, dedicated readers throughout this project.

Helping my partner, friends, and a fairly random pool of generally unconnected writers turn this “wild hare” into an actual 400-page reality over the course of almost two years has been an honor. I laughed, I cried, I tore my hair out in frustration and wonder over what a “master text frame” is and if it helps me or not.

I never complete any project so completely as I completed this. COOL!

Also you’ll probably think the stories in this thing are cool as shit if you care about anything. You should buy it! topsidepress.com for info, store.topsidepress.com for purchasing!

by Ted Kerr

30 years into the epidemic, exasperated by silence and ignorance, we don’t need AIDSphobia articulated anymore. Sadly, 3500 words later, that is all Rich Juzwiak’s article Please Don’t Infect Me, I’m Sorry, has to offer (how someone can fail to write about PrEP or PEP when investigating their fear of HIV is beyond me). While taking us on a grindr fueled journey of fear and loathing in lost chances, all we learn is sites like Gawker still feel free to trade in fear mongering, lack luster research, and discriminatory points of view. For all of his fear of HIV, he fails to mention evolving prevention technology such as PEP or PrEP, and seems to almost refuse to people living with HIV as anything beyond a positive sign.

by Kelly Riel

“For a fast food giant like Chick-Fil-A, being anti-gay marriage is a huge issue. Because fast food companies are totally awesome all the time and don’t treat employees poorly and union bust and pay minimum wage. And it’s fast food, so they don’t price gouge to undercut comparable local businesses, serve feedlot animal products sourced from tortured livestock at polluting and dangerous megafarms, or support chemical-heavy monocrop agriculture that is destroying farmland and ecosystems across the planet. The food that they serve isn’t so heavily processed that we are hard-pressed to call it food or anything like that. We should totally hold them to a political standard of supporting gay marriage.”

Read More at PrettyQueer.com»

Bodies Of Work Magazine: INTERVIEW WITH WRITER / PUBLISHER TOM LÉGER

Bodies Of Work Magazine: INTERVIEW WITH WRITER / PUBLISHER TOM LÉGER:...

topsidepress:

… there’s no homecoming revelations, and by the time you read this I will have already accepted myself, as well as the existence of alternate dimensions.

Come see PrettyQueer managing editor, Red Durkin, in the Fully Functional Cabaret!!

Written by collaborative process of its all-trans woman cast, Fully Functional was divined by taking our unheard, inappropriate, and deeply true stories and slathering them in a glittery coat of raw-hearted wit. We are women, whole and complete, and our lives are long obscured by the hideous apparitions of the medical industry, the mass media, and even some feminists! Fully Functional takes these unfortunate mantles and runs with them, shouting “NO SOB STORIES!”

Starring: Bryn Kelly, Red Durkin, Ryka Aoki, Shawna Virago, Star Amerasu, and Annie Danger!

$12-$20 sliding, No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds
https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/246311
